Pat Ammendolia, Varsity Head Coach
Coach Ammendolia will be entering his 12th season as head coach of Acton-Boxborough Varsity.
In eleven seasons at AB, Ammendolia has amassed a record of 157 - 74, won one Div 1 State Championship title, two Div 1 North titles, and one Div 1 North runner-up trophy. In 2018, AB was the Division 1 Runner up and Division 1 North Champion.
Ammendolia is co-director of Beantown Lacrosse. Beantown Lacrosse was founded by high school coaches with the goal of providing a "team" environment for offseason play. The goal was to provide an environment help local high school teams create team chemistry by continuing to building trust in the off season and grow as a unit.
Ammendolia is a teacher at Billerica High School, and has his masters in physical education from Boston University.
Ammendolia graduated from Eastern Connecticut State in 2003, where he was a three year starter and long-stick defensive mid-fielder. He was a 2-Time All New England Selection, a 2-Time All-Little East Conference All-Star, a 2-Time All-American and he was selected to the Senior East-West All-Star Game. Ammendolia is from Acton, MA and attended AB where he was a two sport standout in lacrosse and football. Ammendolia was an AB Captain for football and lacrosse, a DCL All-Star and DCL Defensive MVP and Metro-West All-Scholastic in football, and in lacrosse he was a 2-Time DCL All-Star, Boston Globe and Lowell Sun All-Scholastic, and was selected to the All-American Lacrosse Team his senior season. Ammendolia was inducted into the AB HS Hall of Fame.
Varsity Assistant Coaches
Coach Trainor is in his sixth year being an assistant coach at AB. Trainor assists with coordination of the defense.
Trainor works for locally in Acton with Payright Workforce Solutions.
Trainor graduated from Marist College in 2011 with a bachelor of arts degree in finance. Trainor was a four-year player on the lacrosse team. Trainor was a long stick defenseman.
Trainor was a graduate of Acton-Boxborough in 2006. At AB, Trainor was a long-stick defenseman.
Coach Rogers is in his forth season as an Assistant Coach for the Colonials. He assists with coordination of the defense and goalies.
Coach Rogers works locally in Acton at Scheier, Katin, and Epstein, P.C. where he is a Real-Estate paralegal. He helps community members successfully sell their homes.
Rogers graduated from Keene State College in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography. There he was a four-year member of the Men’s Lacrosse team. Winning two LEC Championships and participating in two NCAA Tournaments.
Rogers was also a graduate of Acton-Boxborough in 2011. He played both hockey and lacrosse throughout high school and was captain of the lacrosse team his senior year. Rogers was also the Physical Education Student of the Year two years in a row.
Coach Rogers is in his second season as an Assistant Coach for the Colonials. He assists with coordination of the offense as well as manages the substitution box during games.
Rogers' will serve as the Intramural Coordinator for Bryant University this upcoming academic year.
Rogers graduated from Springfield College in 2017 with a Bachelors of Science in Sport Management. There, Rogers was a four year member of the Men's Lacrosse team where he played both attack and midfield.
Rogers was a graduate of Acton-Boxborough in 2013. He played both Hockey and Lacrosse throughout High School and was a captain of the lacrosse team his Senior year.
Coach McKelvie is in his second year being an assistant coach at AB. McKelvie works with the offense.
McKelvie graduated from Keene State in 2017 as one of the most decorated athletes ever at Keene State. McKelvie was a three-time Division III All-American (2014, 2015, 2016), a three-time LEC Offensive Player LEC Offensive Player of the Year (2014,2015,2016), and was 2013 LEC Rookie of the Year.
McKelvie was also a standout for Acton-Boxborough in high school. He was a 2012 High School All-American in Lacrosse. He also played hockey at AB.
Junior Varsity Coaches
Coach Minaker is in first year on the AB coaching staff.
Minaker began his coaching career as the Assistant offensive coordinator at Lasell College 2007 - 2008. After College Kyle coached in the select community with a small program called the New England Natives out of Portsmouth NH and EC Wizards. Kyle recently has been coaching with Waltham High school as the offensive coordinator ‘16, ‘17, ’18 and also coached during the winters with Laxachusetts and 3D select programs.
Minaker played his High School sports at Newton North HS and played lacrosse and hockey. He was All-Baystate 1st team for 3 years in lacrosse and All-Baystate wnd team for 2 years in hockey. Kyle attended Endicott College where he was part of the teams’ first Conference Championship and first NCAA tournament appearance. Kyle continued his College education at Lasell College where he was named 2nd Team All-Pilgrim League Attackman as a sophomore, 1st Team All-Pilgrim League Attackman as a junior, and 2nd Team All-New England Attackman as a senior. In his four years of college lacrosse Kyle posted 234 career points.
Kyle lives in Natick, MA with his wife Sherry, 4 year old son Duke and 2 year old daughter Sadie.
Coach Clayton will be entering his third year coaching with the Acton-Boxborough Junior Varsity program.
Clayton has been continuously playing and coaching for over 30 years. After high school and college, he coached in England and has played competitive club lacrosse in England, California, New York and Massachusetts. Currently, Clayton is coaching for the Acton-Boxborough Youth program as well as the Laxachusetts club program.
Clayton is a founder and co-director of the Red Tail Lacrosse program. Red Tail provides a local, affordable, & competitive lacrosse club to maximize “out of season” stick skills and player development for 1st through 8th grade players.
As for his college career, Clayton was a three-year starting midfielder for the Blue Devils tallying 46 goals and over 25 assists in his career. He helped the Blue Devils receive two NCAA tournament bids and was selected to the Division 1 North/South All Star game. He was a Captain his senior year. In high school, Clayton was a high school All American from Baldwinsville, New York.
Clayton resides in Acton, MA with his wife, Melissa (tinytags.com), and three boys.
